Postgres Cost Reduction

Your Postgres Setup Could Be Cheaper. Want to Know How?

I review your setup, spot inefficiencies, and show you what to fix.

You only pay if my tips actually save you resources.

Process

Phase 1

Intro and Basic Agreements

We start with a short, no-obligation call so I understand your current Postgres setup and objectives.

  • We jointly agree on one of the 2 payment options
  • I get read-only access to your configuration and usage metrics.

Phase 2

Audit and Analysis

In-depth audit of your PostgreSQL environment, including:
  • Query patterns and performance
  • Indexing strategies
  • Configuration settings
  • Bloat reduction
  • Connection and Session Usage

Phase 3

Recommendations Report

You receive a detailed report outlining:
  • Existing inefficiencies and bottlenecks
  • Clear, actionable recommendations
  • A realistic estimate of potential savings

Phase 4

Implementation

You stay in control — you're free to implement the improvements yourself, with me, or with a third party.

Payment

The pricing model is results-based — you only pay if I help you save resources.
This ensures our incentives are fully aligned: I only succeed if you do.
  • No upfront payments
  • No savings? No fee.

Option 1

Share of Resource Savings

  • I charge only a share of the actual savings realized in the first 3 months after implementation.
  • Calculated from a baseline of the last month before the implementation.

Most suitable for Cloud based Saas (RDS, Cloud SQL).

Example:

If you save $3,000 in the first 3 months, and our agreed rate is 30%, your fee would be $900.

Option 2

Fixed Performance Target

  • Clearly defined performance targets.
  • A flat, pre-agreed fee.

Most suitable for On-premise setups.

Example:

25% reduction of disk space, aggreed on a fee of $1,000 one-time payment if reached.
